Katherine Jones

Katherine Jones the daughter of Strother Jones and Anna Gebel was born in 1858 at Springfield, Sangamon Co., IL.  Katherine was married 1st to Alfred Reichart the son of Samuel & Miriam Reichart. Alfred was born abt. 1854 in Indiana.

In 1880 Katherine, her mother Anna, husband Alfred and their two sons Fred and Harry are residing in Springfield, IL.  To date it is not known what happened to Alfred.  No marriage or divorce record has been located for them.  No death record or burial record has been located for Alfred. 

On Sep. 29, 1883 at Decatur, Macon Co., IL Katherine marries a 2^nd time to William J. Corcoran the son of William & Ellen Brady Corcoran. William was born Sep. 8, 1856 at Lancaster, PA and died circa 1903-1905.  Katherine disappears after 1907 and it is presumed at this point she died prior to 1910. No record of death or burial has been located to date for Katherine and William.

A birth record for Harry has been acquired and shows he is the son of Alfred and Katherine yet all subsequent records going forward will list Fred and Harry both under the surname of Corcoran.  On their social security applications of 1936 they list William J. Corcoran as their father.  Katherine either simply changed her sons last names or William legally adopted them as his own.
