Wayne County Letters
From Foster, Nebraska
John Spar, who was formerly in the livery business here, writes from Foster, Nebraska, that he is beginning to make some money farming and trading. He had out 200 acres of corn and 100 acres of small grain last year. He still has old Fred and 16 head of other horses and mules. He says "Tell all the boys I would like to see them." He reports the family consisting of 5 boys, 2 girls, Mrs. Spar and himself, as being well. None of them had needed a physician since moving to Nebraska. He adds, "The best of all is, I have quit drinking and that helps a good deal." Wayne County Illinois Record. February 4, 1904. Submitted by Betty Beeson
