CHURCH DEDICATION AT RINARD. Big Day Planned When J. Fred Jones Dedicates Christian Church. For several years there has been a few disciples of Christ at Rinard who were anxious to have an organization at their home that sought to restore the primitive church in its name, ordinances, doctrine and life. But there seemed to be no hope of the accomplishment of so great a task until the great Rally Day at Fairfield, the seat of Wayne county, Sept. 12, 1909, followed by a remarkable campaigne in which 131 people were won to take a stand for Christ. This created county-wide enthusiasm, and when it reached Rinard the brethren there said, "Let us organize and build a church." So an organization was effected before the Violett campaign closed, and plans were made immediately for the erection of a building. This building is now completed, and will be dedicated next Sunday, June 12. The development of this work reminds me of what an old man said who saw the train for the first time. He moved around the engine as it stood by the depot, and as he tunked the wheels with his cane, declared, "You can never start her in this world". But when the trail pulled out, standing in the middle of the track, with his hat pushed back, he cried out, "You can never stop her in this world". The new work at Rinard will continue through the years of time and the cycles of eternity. For six months I have been preaching there every Saturday night, and the people have treated me with hospitality and generosity. They are worthy and their cause is divine. Come to the dedication the next Lord's Day, and help this work by your presence and enthusiasm. J. Fred Jones will be in charge. There will be meetings all day, and a basked dinner on the church yard or near it. Come and help make it the greatest day in the history of Rinard. The people in Fairfield, too far to drive, can go to Rinard at 2:09 in the afternoon, and they will be entertained over night; then they can return to their business early Monday morning. All in reach are cordially invited to be present on this important day.Adam K. Adcock,Christian Minister. Wayne County Illinois Press June 9, 1910 Submitted by Betty Beeson
